Associated Conditions for Asthma

Asthma attacks among children increase in early autumn, leading to a sharp rise in asthma-related doctor visits and hospitalizations. Colds due to rhinovirus also peak each fall when children return to school. Viral infections are a known trigger for asthma attacks, leading doctors to believe that rhinovirus is largely responsible for the seasonal increase in asthma problems.

Mold Allergies: The connection between mold and asthma, however, is complicated and not fully understood. Asthma is often associated with allergies, and molds release tiny particles into the air that can cause allergic reactions.

Hypersensitivity pneumonitis: It is possible for workers to have both dampness-related HP and asthma at the same time. Additionally, workplaces that have workers with HP may also have workers with building-related asthma.
