Ovulation
Ovulation is the release of a female ovum cell by the ovary in females. Ovulation is required for normal fertility and conception. Failure to ovulate is called anovulation and is one cause of female infertility. Ovulation is not always known to the woman, but in some women it causes ovulation bleeding (mild vaginal bleeding) and/or mittelschmerz, a type of temporary abdominal pain.
