Prone Position

The prone position is where a person is lying down on their stomach with their face down. The opposite position is the supine position where a person is lying face upwards.

There are various symptoms that relate to or are exacerbated by lying down, such as orthopnea (breathlessness on lying down) and other lying down symptoms. Other types of symptoms may be relieved by lying down (or relieved by rest).
